The editing process is always fraught for directors and producers because it’s the moment where you are met by the footage you have, which isn’t always the footage you wanted. Lesley steered our complex, nuanced and subtle film the way only a masterful editor can: with the mind of a writer, the eye of a director and the empathy of a deep and self-enquiring human. Lesley works with all of these elements and comes with technical expertise and a strong film language, as well as a calm, patient and secure manner which put me at ease every time I entered her suite.
